Successful debut of the Ising Open Sales at Lake Chiemsee

(Chieming) The inaugural Ising Open Sales was a resounding success: a high-quality collection, international interest, and an enthusiastic group of buyers characterized the auction evening on Saturday, April 18, at Gut Ising on Lake Chiemsee. In total, the 28 dressage and show jumping horses generated total proceeds of 3,322,000 euros. Buyers from Europe, the United States, Asia, and South Africa secured their favorites—bids were placed both on-site and online.

Successful debut for the Ising Open Sales at Lake ChiemseeThe top-priced horse was the six-year-old dressage mare Venice, who changed hands for 400,000 euros. Breeder Ingo Pape had already highlighted her exceptional qualities beforehand: “Venedig is truly extraordinary in the complexity of her qualities.” The dark bay Westphian impressed with her natural talent for collection, expression, and charm—traits she inherits from her Grand Prix-winning sire V-Plus, himself once the top horse at the 2018 P.S.I. Auction.

Among the show jumpers, Dia Lady PS (by Diaron x Chacoon Blue) took the top spot. The promising Oldenburg mare, from an internationally successful dam line, was sold for 225,000 euros. Christian Volke from Stall Schockemöhle emphasized: “Dia Lady PS is an exceptional young talent who will hopefully bring a young rider in Ireland a great deal of joy.”

A successful start thanks to experience and teamwork

The auction is the result of a collaboration between Paul Schockemöhle, Hof Kasselmann, Gugler Sport Horses, and Ingo Pape. For the Gut Ising venue, the event marked a first: no auction of this scale had ever been held there before. In particular, the teams from Stall Schockemöhle and Hof Kasselmann were able to contribute their extensive experience from numerous international event auctions.

Despite international uncertainties, strikes, and travel restrictions, the event was held as scheduled and was very well received. In this context, Christian Volke emphasized the importance of collaborative partnership: “This allows such a project to be successfully implemented even under difficult conditions.”

Francois Kasselmann also drew a similarly positive conclusion: "We are very satisfied with this premiere. The market confirmed the quality of the collection, and the international interest has shown that we chose the right approach with this format. Our goal was to create a sport-oriented offering with potential—and that is exactly what we saw today."

Sales consultant Michael Holtgers added: "We hit the mark perfectly with this event. It was two thoroughly successful evenings – with the ‘Old Masters’ on Friday and the auction on Saturday."

With satisfied buyers and four committed partners, the evening at Gut Ising came to an atmospheric close – and at the same time sent a strong signal for the future of the Ising Open Sales.
