Ising Open Sales Makes Its Debut at Lake Chiemsee – The “Old Masters” Make a Comeback as a Star-Studded Opening Event

(Ising) This spring, a new, high-profile auction format—the Ising Open Sales (I.O.S.)—will make its debut. On Saturday evening, April 18, at the historic Gut Ising estate on Lake Chiemsee—the facility owned by Sylvia and Dietmar Gugler—a carefully curated collection of 25 dressage and show jumping horses aged four to eight will be auctioned for the first time, both on-site and online.

Behind I.O.S. stand four internationally established partners who combine their experience, networks, and quality standards: Gugler Sport Horses, Paul Schockemöhle, the Pape Stud, and Hof Kasselmann. The offering is deliberately aimed at a broad, competitive buyer segment: from promising young horses to already well-trained competition partners for ambitious amateurs and professionals. Quality, rideability, and potential are at the heart of the new format.

Initiator Dietmar Gugler explains how the idea for I.O.S. came about: “I worked closely with Paul Schockemöhle and the P.S.I. Auction for many years and, as a buyer at the Schockemöhle stable, accompanied numerous top show jumpers. The idea of organizing a spring auction at our beautiful facility has been in the works for a long time. But I didn’t want to implement it alone, so I was able to get strong partners like Paul Schockemöhle, Ingo Pape, and the Kasselmann family on board.”

The combination of first-class infrastructure, international expertise, and the proven hybrid format creates the ideal conditions for a successful premiere. Table reservations can already be made through Yvonne Wolking at auction@isingopensales.com or by phone at +49 6157 91540.

“Old Masters” Celebrate a New Edition

Already on Friday evening, April 17, visitors can look forward to a very special highlight: The successful event and educational series “The Old Masters” is making its comeback at Gut Ising, the very venue where the series has been held in previous years.

The evening will center on the theme: “How to be a Champion.” Joining the panel are three renowned experts in show jumping—World Champion Simone Blum, European Team Vice-Champion David Will, and National Team Coach Otto Becker—as well as three top-tier representatives of dressage: two-time Olympic Champion Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, her brother Benjamin Werndl, and youth coach Hans-Heinrich Meyer zu Strohen. The panel is rounded out by legendary professional soccer coach Hermann “Tiger” Gerland. The evening will be moderated by international dressage judge Nicole Nockemann and legendary sports commentator Carsten Sostmeier.

For more than 15 years, ”Old Masters” has been one of the most successful and renowned equestrian educational formats in the German-speaking world. Initiator Frank R. Henning captivated over 600,000 viewers with his instructional series, while personalities such as Monica Theodorescu, Klaus Balkenhol, Jean Bemelmans, Isabell Werth, and Hubertus Schmidt shared their expertise and the finer points of horsemanship. The goal has always been to demonstrate how to train and care for a horse using knowledge, experience, and intuition. With this new edition at Gut Ising, the event continues this successful tradition.

Tickets for the event cost 35 EUR and are now available for advance purchase through Reservix: https://www.reservix.de/p/reservix/event/2520431
